Tonner Doll Mainline 2013 release: Cami & Jon

Cami & Jon is the youthful fashion line for Tonner Dolls. It must be popular as it had the largest number of dolls and outfits in it, plus a new sculpt, an Asian character. There are three basic dolls, one dressed doll and four outfits!

The only dressed doll is a Cami head sculpt on an Antoinette™ body with the Cameo skin tone. She has brown painted eyes and flame red rooted saran hair, Her outfit consists of a pink and red tank dress, nude pantyhose with attached panties, antiqued gold sunglasses, a bag with pink multi-dot design and a pair of pink faux leather shoes. She comes with a stand.

She looks fantastic but why oh why don't we have a face pic without the sunglasses? How is someone supposed to buy a doll without seeing her face? This time though there is A BAG! Finally! And a cute one too! Fab shoes.

The first basic doll is Cami on the Antoinette™ body with the Cameo skin tone. She has painted blue/grey eyes and a pale blonde saran wig. She is wearing red shorts with black stitching, a black tank top with a black and white stripe star decoration and red stitching and black elastic strap shoes with a red platform. She comes with a stand.

The "theme" running through this collection seems to be navy inspired with all the stars and stripes. Very cute.

The second basic doll is Jon on the Antoinette™ body with the Honey skin tone. She has painted brown eyes and a chestnut saran wig. She wears black shorts with a white star decoration and red stitching, a red and white striped shirt with black stitching and black elastic strap shoes with a red platform. She comes with a stand.

I like the previous outfit better but this wig colour is way more beautiful. All the outfits of the basic dolls plus one of the separate outfits could really mix and match.

The third basic doll is a new Asian head sculpt, Liu Liu, on an Antoinette™ body with the Cameo skin tone. She has painted brown eyes and a black saran wig. She wears black and white striped shorts with red stitching, a black and white shirt with red star decorations and red stitching, and black elastic strap shoes with a red platform. She comes with a stand.

Tonner always does great Asian sculpts and this one is no exception. I might be getting her if she is released in a dressed doll version, although I do not have another doll with this body. She is smiling too! Love her.

The first of four outfits is the one that I wrote above, that matches the ones from the basic dolls. It consists of a tan and black stripe skirt, a tan bodysuit with star decoration and black and red trim, a red faux leather belt, a red jacket with black trim and gold buttons and black elastic strap platform shoes.

Two things: it needed a bag (to really mean business and the shoes should have been different than the basci doll ones. Spectator pumps maybe.

The second outfit consists of a green, orange, and gold lace dress with a ruffled bodice, a metallic bronze faux leather belt, orange tights, gold bracelets, gold rhinestone earrings and gold faux leather shoes with a sculpted heel.

The lace detail is amazing. I like the colours as well, the Autumn palette.

The shoes look a bit weird, like they are spray painted. Are the heels bendy? I hope the production pair is better than this one.

The third outfit is a light purple lace ruffle dress. It comes with gold faux leather shoes, a gold spiral bracelet and matching gold spiral necklace.

This looks cute (but almost like a knit dress). The winners here are the bracelet and necklace. They look like Greek world renowned jeweller Zolotas would have designed them.

The last outfit consists of a black jacket with faux fur cuffs and a black patent leather belt, cream and gold rib knit hooded sweater with black faux fur trim, black velveteen stirrup pants and black faux leather boots with faux fur trim.

This is the odd one out - a winter ensemble in a summer collection. But it looks really good and funky. I bet it will be a hit. This Cami & Jon collection is one of the best ever.

Tonner Doll Mainline 2013 release: Precarious and Antoinette

The two top fashion lines for Tonner Doll are Precarious, which is the more recent, edgy one, and Antoinette, which is the younger but fashion forward line. I am grouping them together as they both had the smallest number of new releases this time. Oh, they do share the same body as well.

The Precarious Tamed dressed doll has the Precarious™ head sculpt on the Antoinette™ body with a Cameo skin tone. She has green painted eyes with applied eyelashes and mink non-removable wigged saran hair. She wears a green velvet bodysuit under a green velvet burnout jacket and skirt. To complete the look, she has a green beaded necklace, metallic green faux leather gloves with mesh backing, green tights, nude pantyhose and a pair of green faux leather shoes. She comes with a stand.

She is a beautiful doll. I love the colours both of the doll and the outfit. The cut of the outfit is not that great for me though, although the devoré velvet is gorgeous. She should have had a pair of earrings (preferably long ones) and a nice bag to complete this. Bags are really missing from Tonner outfits. Robert, are you listening? For these prices, they should be part of the outfit. The shoes are a bit tame for this look.

Cute in an edgy way but nothing special. For a basic doll she is really good though.

The Antoinette line has only one basic doll and no dressed ones. She is a beautiful doll, with a lovely face and luscious hair. She should have had applied eyelashes though.

There are two outfits for the line. They fit dolls such as Antoinette™, Cami & Jon™ but also Precarious. This one is a gold lamé dress with sequinned lace overlay and feathered skirt. It comes with gold shimmer tights and gold glitter shoes.

It is not my style but I love the feather skirt. Pity they did not release a close up of the shoes.

Fanciful - Outfit

The second outfit is a blue/purple iridescent semi-open back gown with flower and beaded decoration on the bodice and tiered skirt layers with a ruffle trim. Under the skirt is a white crinoline petticoat to keep the volume. It comes with matching faux leather shoes and beaded cluster earrings.

This one is quite an extravaganza! It reminds me of John Galliano's Dior gowns. It has lots of fabric, that is probably the reason for the pricing.

Tonner Doll Mainline Release 2013 - Tyler Wentworth

Tonner Doll revealed their mainline release a while ago, with a variety of styles and doll series, many of them fashion and many from the films they hold licences for, older and new. We will check out most of them, starting with the classic Tonner fashion line, Tyler Wentworth. This includes two dressed dolls, two basics and one outfit.

All Drama Sydney

Sydney is a dressed doll in fine quality vinyl and hard plastic. She has the classic Sydney head sculpt and the 16" Tyler bending wrist body in the Tyler skin tone. She has blue painted eyes, mink rooted saran hair. Her outfit is a red one shoulder strap ruffle dress, accessorized with a matching red fascinator with faux flowers, rhinestones, and veil. Finishing the look are red rhinestone stud earrings, a red rhinestone bracelet, nude pantyhose and red satin pumps. She comes with a stand.

Normally fascinators like this are intended to be worn with cocktail suits or dresses, for official morning or afternoon functions. It looks way over the top with a long gown, which should have something quite different accompanying it. The dress is just a cascade of ruffles, which for me is too much. A combination of draping and flounce, like the Ungaro dresses of the 80s, would look way better. Sydney looks beautiful though.

This is a very beautiful Tyler, I am a sucker for red hair and green eyes. She reminds me of Rita Hayworth in Gilda, but translated into a tamer, more fashion-y style. Superb.

This is one of the basic dolls. She has the Sydney head sculpt on a 16" Tyler bending wrist body in the Tyler skin tone. She has grey painted eyes and golden blonde removable wigged saran hair. If you see the close up photo above, it looks like they photoshopped the wig on the doll - and a really bad photoshop job it is. It surely makes the doll look worse than she really is.

There it is again. Botched photoshop job. Even worse than the previous one. And the doll looks so beautiful, but the impression is ruined by the photoshopped wig. Shame.

Shades of Grey - Outfit

The only outfit of the series. It fits the 16" Tyler bending wrist body. It consists of a gunmetal taffeta skirt with rosettes, a grey bodysuit with dark grey draped chiffon overlay. The outfit is finished with a gunmetal faux leather textured belt with beaded decoration, metallic tights, a pair of grey faux leather shoes and a pair of gunmetal silver flower cut-out earrings.

I love the ruched gathering of the top and the faux leather of the belt looks great too. The earrings are magnificent from what little they show. Really nice.
