Integrity Toys May 2015 release part 4: Fashion Royalty collection

The last line presented by Integrity Toys was none other than the battleship of the company, the Fashion Royalty line. This year Jason Wu wanted the design team to start with the ladies who lunch as an inspiration: the rich socialites of the 60s that met in the famous restaurants of the era and were very elegantly and minimally dressed during the day but went all out flamboyant at night. The collection comes out along those lines, with elegant and minimal day-wear, very chic and with a retro whiff, that also includes some more eccentric evening wear. Apart from characters picked from the core 8, the line up has Isha and Tatyana. Isha has not been in a normal collection for ages (since 2011 if I remember correctly) and Tatyana was last seen being part of the final FR2 collection. I liked this line so much I ended up pre-ordering five of the dolls.Let's see the dolls:

The only Isha I have in my collection is Something Cool from 2005. I was always on the look out for one but she was elusive or I was getting other, more coveted dolls and could not add her to the bunch. Now she comes home. She looks fantastic, very elegant and the dress is very detailed and looks so well executed. Her bag is also fantastic. Isha comes dressed in a dark navy and cream sheath dress with black shirt collar detail, nude satin with black chiffon overlay inserts on the bodice and side seam pockets, cinched at the waist by a miniature designer belt. She completes her look with a cream coloured bag, black pumps, black painted gloves and earrings (an additional pair of flesh coloured hands is also included). A minimal looking Natalia - that's a first! I love the bolero. Remember the hat from the upgrade W Club Agnes? I passed on this one as I already have a latina skin toned Natalia with brown hair. She wears a sophisticated tweed cocoon sleeve crop jacket and pencil skirt combo with grey faux leather waistband. She completes her look with a grey and white checker crew neck bodysuit, topped off by a taupe straw cloche style hat and fuchsia faux leather purse and pumps. Although she is one beautiful Eugenia, I passed on this one as I already have a coral pink suit from the Truly Madly Deeply Agnes gift set and a red haired pony tailed Eugenia from the Première convention collection. Love the intricate ponytail wrap and her bag and shoes. These are the upgrade Agnes earrings too, the trademark of this collection. Eugenia is in a coral linen look suit with demi sleeve jacket and a chequered mock neck bodysuit. She completes her look with a maple rose straw cloche style hat, light caramel strappy pumps, and a cream leather and beige 'suede' hand bag. Includes large silver dangle earrings. This is a winner - it seems that the success of the Edge Vanessa informs the look of this doll too - but in a totally different outfit. The mole reminds me of Cindy Crawford. Great outfit but I do not get the $10 price difference from the previous dolls - is it the coat? If so, why then is Shades of Grey Hanne at the same price level with the other dolls of her line? Vanessa wears a black and white belted glen check coat and a tone on tone glen check fitted skirt with black faux leather waistband and an anthracite demi sleeve satin shirt. She accessorizes her look with a light blue 'suede' handbag and black 'suede' strappy sandals. Also included are large frame sunglasses, earrings, and a bracelet. I was certain that Elise in this collection would be a red head. With the exception of the limited Montaigne Market, it has been a while since we had one and IT delivered. I really like her - both doll and outfit are gorgeous. The cut of the dress looks like the one Splendid Jordan was wearing a few years back. The bag looks like a Hermes Kelly miniature. Her lipstick shade might be a bit problematic with that red hair but we will see when she comes home. Again this one is $10 more expensive than the rest of the line. Elise is in a camel shawl neckline cocoon coat, black leather designer belt and printed cotton/spandex sheath dress. She accessorizes her look with a cream 'leather' bag, black pumps, caramel painted glove hands, gold earrings, a broach and a bracelet. Blond Kyoris are either gorgeous or totally indifferent to me. This one falls in the first category. i love the doll and the dress and her accessories are good too. Vaughn said that they search a lot to find the perfect fabric for the bag. She wears a plunging V neck sequinned dress that has a sateen modified wrap skirt with a faux belted detail. It includes large frame sunglasses, a black oversize clutch purse, earrings and faux patent leather strappy sandals. Did anyone scream Lupita when they saw her? She's totally inspired from the famous first Oscar red carpet appearance of actress Lupita Nyong'o in 2014 and is, for me, the second best incarnation of the Adele 3.0 sculpt (after Main Attitude in 2012). Ms. Makéda models a light blue gown composed of a satin bodice with asymmetrical waistline and a full tulle skirt in 3 shades of blue. Includes earrings, bracelet, ring, silver clutch and silver sandals. This will be my second Tatyana doll - she's absolutely amazing. Totally different than her previous incarnations, looking like a cross between Elise and Dasha. Love her colouring and her dress is fantastic - if the production doll has the same draping it will be great. She could have had a more elaborate hair do though, I am getting bored with all the ponytails, especially in evening dressed dolls. Tatyana is in a navy blue faille gown with "caviar" beading detail on the bodice. She adds some edge to her look by wearing a dotted tulle veil, dotted lace gloves and black strappy pumps. Nouveau Régime Tatyana

Integrity Toys FR.Squared series is dedicated to producing high fashion dolls (with Jason Wu on the helm), with couture like clothing and styling. This year's series was very close to what the line stands for. Nouveau Régime Tatyana is one of the line's three dolls, probably the most glamorous of them. Her sculpt is the one presented at last year's convention and I think here it reaches near perfection.

She has of course the FR.Squared body - elongated, slimmer, more articulated than it's regular Fashion Royalty counterpart. All the better to showcase the magnificent red dress she is wearing. Draped on the side and finished with a small bow on the shoulder, it also has a golden filigree detail on the bust. The draping is good considering the scale but I would prefer it a bit tighter on the skirt.

Check out the quality of the workmanship at the back - the way the draping ends at the zipper is incredibly made. Her outfit is completed with tights (with a back seam), a red clutch, "crocodile" red shoes with straps, buckles and golden chain, a cuff, a ring and a pair of earrings.

The earring has a single red stone on a golden setting. The clutch has a golden button with a black stone that matches her hair. You can see the cuff better here, with it's modern sculpted design. It reminds me of Elsa Peretti's designs for Tiffany. The golden filigree on white background bust detail is visible here too.

Her earrings are matched to the outfit: golden drops with red stones, they look Byzantine in inspiration. Considering Tatyana is a Russian character in the FR storylines, it fits her to a T. Her make up is bold, like all the dolls in this year's FR.Squared line (and Jason Wu's Fall/Winter 2012 collection too). Dark, smoky eyes, with arched brows, bright red lips and pronounced rouge on the cheekbones. I think this looks great on her and is almost perfectly done. Of course the whole look is finished with fire engine red nails. Her hair is gathered at the back in a big chignon and has Marcel weaves at the front, perfectly done. There were a few flyaway hairs but nothing serious. Below is a photo of her still in her box:

I could not help using some of my new filters and effects on the photos I took of her. She is incredibly photogenic; it is very hard, if not impossible, to take a bad photograph of her.

Integrity Toys 2012 release: FR Squared by Jason Wu

When the time came for the Fashion Royalty:Squared presentation, we were greeted by none other than Jason Wu himself as he is personally designing this collection - his fashion firm is mentioned under the line's name on the boxes. A trio of dolls were presented: Tatyana, Ayumi and Luchia Z. He said that the line will act as a platform to bring back characters that were away from the spotlight. The fashions will be more adventurous and mysterious.

Tatyana Alexandrova was moved to the FR2 line back in last year's convention. That doll was not a favourite of mine as I did not like the bangs or the dress. What a change now. She looks incredible here, with her sexy and luxurious dress, her chic up-do and mesmerizing make up. She wears a red hot cocktail gown, accented by a large bow at the shoulder and a contrasting gold lace bustier. The look is finished with a "gold" jewelry set, a matching red clutch purse, pantyhose and detailed tone-on-tone designer heels (they sport a miniature "gold"chain. I am a sucker for red lips and smoky eyes and will try to obtain her although she is one of the most sought after dolls this season.

Ayumi Nakamura also changed sculpt recently, when she joined FR2 at the IDEX presentation (she was the event doll there). I was not fond of that doll because of her make up and because of my love for the old Sculpt of Ayumi (which had been used twice I think, I have the first one). Her second appearance in the same year makes this kind of special - and she got the looks to match. Her look is reminiscent of the 30's and 40's movie stars like Joan Crawford or Bette Davies. Ayumi wears a high-contrast fire red cocktail jacket over a black floor length, long sleeved, ultra-fitted siren gown. Her hair is neatly styled in an up-swept chignon and her look is completed by her earrings, two (yes two!) rings, a matching clutch purse and high-end patent "leather" pumps. She;s a keeper.

Luchia Z completes the trio and is the most recent one to make a transofrmation - the old sculpt (Isha's own) is abandoned and replaced by the one used for the FNO Bergdorf Goodman doll back in 2011. A change that left many people gasping as the two sculpts are completely different from each other. The Integrity people seemed surprised we did not know it yet! So apart from style the three ladies here share another common thing: new faces! She is dressed like a dominatrix, in a slim-fitted "leather" skirt topped by a form enhancing "leather" and lace bustier, her sleek raven hair pulled back but framing her high forehead at the front as well. The look is finished with a frilly "fake mongolian lamb" coat, black chrome jewelry and a chrome "leather" purse that perfectly matches her designer shoes.
