Integrity Toys 2012 release: Back To Brooklyn - The Dynamite Girls

Last Saturday Integrity Toys held their on-line event, exclusive to W Club members, for unveiling their 2012 mainline collections. Marketing Director Alain Tremblay started the presentation and introduced their PR director, Carol Roth (who is so bubbly she indeed had to become a doll!). She in turn introduced the designer David Buttry to present the first collection - The Dynamite Girls. The 2012 DG collection is called Back To Brooklyn and features looks inspired by youthful Brooklyn street fashion. A mix of old school prep, vintage hues, textures and patterns are the trademark for this style. Very hipster! All dolls are expected at the end of May.

Item #66079 Jasper™ Suggested Retail Price: $65.00 US Limited Edition Size: 450 Dolls Worldwide
Jasper is the most popular girl in this collection, she reminds me so much of Japanese fashion dolls like Momoko. She wears a brown lace baby doll dress with black and white pleated accents, black lace tights, brown leather boots (a first for DG, up to now it was only plastic for the girls), a multi-strand silver chain necklace, and a charcoal grey knit sock cap to finish off her look. Her bag looks like it could hold an iPad. Cute but not my style.

Item #66080 Neve™ Suggested Retail Price: $65.00 US Limited Edition Size: 450 Dolls Worldwide
Neve is the second of the team, dressed in a gold and grey striped jersey pullover, aqua blue shirt, pink neck-tie, jeans with cargo pockets and grey boots with a silver buckle. The silver hoop earrings and the silver bangle bracelet are the finishing touches. I do not like cargo pants in real life (one of the most disfiguring clothing items ever released) and they do not look better on dolls. Her legs look like sausages.

Item #66081 Gavin™ Suggested Retail Price: $65.00 US Limited Edition Size: 450 Dolls Worldwide
Gavin is wearing a 70s college prep style pant-suit, with belted, high waist corduroy jeans, a vest, a salmon shirt under it and a pumpkin fitted blazer with a lovely green trim. A pair of tan boots complete the retro look.  She is like a young Annie Hall but the hair ruin the look - more Charlie's Angels then Brooklyn hipster.

Item # 66082 Auden™ Suggested Retail Price: $65.00 US Limited Edition Size: 450 Dolls Worldwide
Auden was the mega hit of the DG collection last year and this year's version was a disappointment for many. He's supposedly a hairdresser so he coloured his hair a carrot red, which looks nice, but his haircut is a bit overwhelming. He sports a vintage jean jacket, brown tweed pants, plaid vest, short-sleeved light blue shirt, neck-tie, and light blue and tan shoes. His clothes look great and would make a lovely addition to any FR Homme guy's wardrobe, although his pants do look a bit shapeless. Where can I find a vest like that for me?

Item #66083 Remi™ Suggested Retail Price: $65.00 US Limited Edition Size: 450 Dolls Worldwide
Remi is for me the best doll in this collection and the only one I would like to have. Look at this outfit! I would dress like that anytime! He wears mustard colored skinny jeans, a blue chambray shirt (incredibly scaled pattern), a brown graphic t-shirt over it and soft greenish-grey "leather" jacket. The green shoes and a plaid newsboy cap top off his ensemble. I think this one is the hit of 2012 for DG. And I must add that although the girls are too cartoon-y for me, the boys more than make up for it.
